Take 106: In another town

Have I mentioned how much I love living in DC? Probably. This was taken from Cordozo High School, which probably has the best view of the entire city. I drive past it often and say to myself: “Self, this is a great view of the city, you should take a picture of it.” Well, here it is. I love DC.

Take 105: Veterans Day

Happy Veterans Day! These first two photos I obviously didn’t take since I am not fighting in a war. Those are photos of my long time friend Chief Warrant Office 2 Joe who is currently serving in Afghanistan in the 4th Combat Aviation Brigade, Task Force Comanche. He pilots an AH-64D Longbow Apache, which you know, will basically blow away everything in it’s path. So don’t mess.

Joe and I met the first day of seventh grade in Home Room, and for the first two weeks of our friendship he called me Carl. I haven’t seen him since 2003 due to his multiple tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, and the fact that we haven’t lived anywhere near each other since then. He’s the only veteran that I know, so I want to think him personally for the fact that I don’t have to go to work today. But also to thank him, and all the veterans past, present and future for their service to this country.

Take 104: I keep looking

This is the view outside the one window in my crowded office. I’ve been able to watch the top of the tree turning red and slowly spreading downward. I look at the tree several times a day, so long as somebody (who shall remain nameless) isn’t blocking my view. Eventually the leaves will fall off and I wonder if it will be worth looking out the window at all.

I wanted to add in this photo of a different view through the same window. This was taken on an iPhone, my first time using the camera on an iPhone. It almost makes me want to get one just for the quick, and good quality photos it can take. But then I remember that I have big thumbs and can’t type on a touch screen. Oh, and I have no money. Stupid big thumbs and no money…

Take 103: Never grow old

This isn’t a recent photo, but now that elections are over I have a lot of free time, but I’ve also been super lazy and haven’t gone out to take new pictures. So here is one that I’ve been holding on to for a while, it’s my super cute niece!
